Patients come all the time asking if we dispense antibiotics without prescription at our pharmacy and our answer is always not without a prescription. In the US, the rules are very strict and require you have a prescription for the medications unlike internationally where a pharmacist can dispense the medication without doctor’s permission. This is for a very good reason.
Currently we are faced with the overuse of antibiotics throughout the world because no consideration was given to determine whether it was caused by a virus or bacteria. If the symptoms are caused by a virus, our body have to naturally fight the virus and antibiotics are ineffective. The best thing we can do is give the body all the essential nutrients or supplements it needs to fight the intruders naturally. This applies to many bacterial infections as well. Our body is naturally capable of fighting most of the intruders that attacks it as long as it has proper ammunition to fight them.
However, the bacteria can sometimes suppress the immune system making the body powerless to fight it. When this happens, the doctor can prescribe appropriate antibiotics to get rid of the infection. The only problem is that the bacteria gets resistant to the antibiotic every time it is used and develops a resistance to it. Currently we have ‘super-bacterias’ that are resistant to all the antibiotics we have to fight it and has become a global epidemic.
So you can see how dangerous it can be to dispense medications without a prescription. A doctor can more accurately determine if the symptoms you have are caused by a virus or a bacteria and also the type of antibiotic you require because Azithromycin might not work all the time. The good news is that at Goodpill we even accept international prescription. Unlike the chains that have strict policies that are set by corporate offices with employees powerless to make changes, we are an independent and locally owned pharmacy that focuses on the needs of our community. All you have to do is have your doctor fax or email us the prescription. Please feel free to contact our friendly staff at 754-201-3663 or email us at email@example.com for more information regarding international prescriptions or any health inquiries you may have.
